Care

Four kinds of visit, one prescriber you know

Each visit is billed to your health plan where we are in network, and to you with a written estimate where we are not.

  • A clinician's hands writing on a clipboard at a wooden desk

    Initial evaluation

Sixty minutes with a prescriber: your history, your medications and what you want help with.

    • Ends with a plan you agree on

    About the evaluation
  • A clinician and a patient seated side by side, hands visible

    Follow-up visits

Twenty-five minutes, to see how things are going and adjust the plan.

    • With the same prescriber

    About follow-ups
  • Black chairs and a tall arc lamp beside a wood-panelled wall and a plant

    Follow-ups by video

Follow-up visits from home, for patients who are in Colorado during the visit.

    • Colorado only

    About follow-ups by video
  • Sheer curtains tied back at tall windows in a dim room

    Medication changes

Starting, adjusting or stopping a medication, with the reasons explained.

    • Part of a follow-up visit

    About changes

Three questions about care at Onyx

Is this therapy?

No. Our prescribers evaluate and treat with medication and talk with you about how you are doing, but visits are not psychotherapy. If you want therapy, we can suggest where to look, and we coordinate with your therapist if you have one.

Who sees me?

One of our three prescribers, and the same one at each visit. You can ask for a particular prescriber when you write.

How is a visit paid for?

Most visits are billed to your health plan. How fees work explains plans, benefits checks, self-pay and the written estimate.

Write or call. We check your benefits before the first visit and tell you what we learn.
