Questions

What patients ask first

Do you take my insurance?

We bill many PPO plans and some HMO plans, and Medicare for covered visits. We do not take Medicaid at this time. Write or call with your plan's name and we check it before your first visit.

What is a superbill and how do I use it?

A superbill is an itemized receipt that your plan may use to reimburse part of out-of-network care, and your plan decides whether it pays anything. If we are out of network with your plan, we give you one after each visit. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of your costs before you start. If the final bill is $400 or more above it, you can dispute it. It is not a contract.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your plan, or on the visit if you pay yourself. We check your benefits and tell you what we learn, or give you a written fee before you start.

What happens in the first session?

A sixty-minute evaluation with one prescriber: your history, your medications and what you want help with. It ends with a plan you agree on.

How often and how long are visits?

Evaluations are sixty minutes and follow-ups twenty-five. Your prescriber sets the pace with you, and we do not promise a number of visits.

Are you licensed where I live?

We are licensed in Colorado. We see patients at our Louisville office, and by video if you are in Colorado during the visit.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. We are not an emergency service and cannot respond to messages or voicemail right away.

What is confidential and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows or with your written permission. The law has limits, such as a risk of serious harm, and your prescriber explains them at the first visit.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment. Ask us how it applies to your plan.

Do you prescribe controlled medication by video?

No. Our policy is that controlled medications are decided in person, after an evaluation, under Colorado and federal law.

Will I need labs?

Some medications need blood work. Your prescriber tells you if yours does and why, and sends the order to a lab near you.

How soon can I be seen?

It depends on the prescriber's calendar. We tell you the next opening when you write or call, and we do not hold a place without a visit.
